2004 Southeast Region Activity Report <<< Return to Regional Councils page MICHIGAN
FAMILY SUPPORT COUNCIL Once
again, we want to report a highly successful conference held this past
May. We started our conference with a highly entertaining skit from the
Oakland County Friend of the Court. It focused in on some of the challenges
of dealing with MiCSES in an enjoyable manner. The skit allowed everyone
to laugh and relax and was the perfect way to begin our program. We
were honored once again to have Marilyn Stephen at our conference. Marilyn
went over some organizational changes of our child support program and
was very informative. She was also gracious enough to allow for the many
questions that our participants had for her. She did an outstanding job
and we were grateful that she took the time out of her busy schedule to
spend some time with us. For
the second year in a row, we invited Scott Teeter to address the southeast
region. He gave us some new updates on the Felony Bench Warrant Program
that is doing well in our state. Scott always does a fine job of presenting
his information in an informative and interesting fashion. Every year
there are more and more success stories! It is great to see these parents
finally held accountable for the support of their children! Finally,
Dr. John Tsakos addressed our conference, on the benefits of chiropractic
care and proper nutrition. In our stressful jobs, it is always good to
be reminded that we must take care of ourselves, if we are going to effective
in our line of work. He did an excellent job and was well-received by
our region. We are honored to be a part of the Michigan Family Support
Council, and we encourage all of the registrants to enjoy the program
that has been designed with all of us in mind. We look forward to another
great year of working together with the different offices in the state
of Michigan. If you are in the Southeast region, be sure to register for
our next conference in May of 2005! We
offer our best wishes for a successful conference to the State Board.
The board works very hard each year to make this conference enjoyable
to all that attend. A special thank-you to Andy Crisenbery, our board
president, as he finishes up his second term as president. Thanks for
