2002 President's Report What a difference a year makes. While many of us have performed our office responsibilities without much change from the previous years, the past year has brought monumental change, with more in the offing. As we celebrate our 20th year as a training organization, we need to look to the future to see where the Michigan Family Support Council can be of use to our members. At the moment, we find a huge cloud overhead of doubt and concern as to what our role is to be, and wonder what's next? Our Council had a difficult time this past year, getting members to attend our meetings. I realize some have been so inundated trying to keep up with the new uniform computer system that they haven't had the time or energy to volunteer and work for the council. I would like to commend those board members who put forth the effort and worked diligently to make this conference happen. The Council looks forward to a brighter future in the family support profession. We look for the bumps in the road to be smoother. We are hoping that the State will become more of a partner than a sole owner. We remain dedicated to providing children with the support they so desperately need and deserve. With that in mind, let this be the training conference where it all begins. PS: My sincere
thanks to all the technicians who have assisted with the Sincerely, |
