Annual Activity Report

The Northern Region in 2005 experienced another year of continued professional growth, offering what has become our annual training session in Traverse City. This years session was fairly well attended, with registrants numbering approximately 40.

The Spring Conference was held on May 17, 2005 at the Waterfront Inn. After having our originally scheduled presenter cancel at the last minute, due to health issues, Marilyn Stephen came to the rescue, bringing her team from Central Office to save the day. Ron Sneed started the program with a discussion on FIDM, Pam McKee spoke on Performance Mgt., including paternity performance indicators, Michael Adrian discussed MiCSES, including the action transmittal process, and finally Marilyn finished the program, speaking on the SDU Transition. The presentation was excellent and was very well received. The lunch, which this year included Pork Loin Napoleon and Whitefish Almondine, as usual was outstanding.There has been no real changes to the Region Board this year, however, we have a new O.C.S. rep, her name is Amy Gilmore. Our previous O.C.S. rep, Jeff Koteles is now the rep for Southwest. Our F.O.C. rep and P.A. rep positions remain unfilled. Therefore, anyone with an interest and the ability to attend our State Board meetings the second Tuesday of each month from 10am until approximately noon is encouraged to contact me to discuss this matter further. We really need more of a presence on the State Board from the North.Here’s hoping this years State conference is enjoyable as well as productive for you.
